Friday 2-5

  • At this time, all 2nd sopranos in both 7th and 8th grade choir should report to the choir room for rehearsal.

  • Flowergrams are now on sale before school and during advisory.  Send your friends a flower and a note for valentine’s day for 1.50!

  • Next week we will have a Spring Spirit Week!  Monday is College Day, wear clothes to support your favorite college team!

  • If you are missing cell phone, please come to the office and be prepared to desribe it in detail.

  • The annual Staff vs Student Basketball will be here soon and 8th grade, it is time to sign up!  Today is your last chance to sign up with your advisory teacher.  Teachers, please send the list to Mrs. Muessig once everyone has had the chance to sign up today.  Students must have no office referrals and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 in order to be eligible to play.  3 boys and 3 girls will be chosen based on P.E. teacher recommendations and the remaining players will be drawn via lottery during 8th grade lunch next week.  You can’t be chosen if you don’t sign up to play so sign up today!!

  • Got Caught Ticket totals for the past two weeks combined are:  

8th grade - 10 tickets

7th grade - 15 tickets

6th grade - 22 tickets

Good character is showing, and a lot of you are getting caught by your teachers!

In 8th grade, Mrs. Spruell caught Stephen Alapbe helping another student.

Mrs. Bader also 7th grader Jordan Brinkley quietly working on his quiz.

And in 6th grade, Mr. Wilhelm caught Jack Zarr helping clean tape off of the floor.

Thank you for demonstrating the Oakville Way and being an example to your fellow classmates! Keep it up!

Thursday 2-4

  • Talent Show Auditions continue TODAY!  If you signed up for an audition this afternoon you need to be in the gym with all of your belongings by 2:55.  You may leave as soon as your audition is complete. Good luck!!

  • Women’s Ensemble will rehearse after school today until 3:45.

  • Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day for Women sponsored by American Heart Association. Staff and students please wear red tomorrow to support this cause.

  • All History Bee Top Qualifying Contestants please meet in Room 107 (Mrs. Lakebrink’s room) for a yearbook photo
Role Models
On Friday, Jan. 29, students started the day by bringing their role models to breakfast. Each student wrote a note about that special person....it's a nice way to strengthen such important bonds.

Warm & Fuzzy Day
Lots of smiles on Friday, Jan. 22, as students participated in the annual Warm and Fuzzy Day. Great concept....give a student or a staffer a compliment and a colorful string....just to be nice. Some lessons just don't come from a textbook.

Cafeteria Ladies Serve Up Smiles
Our cafeteria ladies provide great service in our cafeteria daily...but they also serving up smiles for the holidays. They adopted a district family and collected all these gifts for them. We are so proud to call them Spartans! Happy Holidays to all.

Prop R Thank You
A big THANK YOU...OMS staff held signs and waved at cars on Telegraph Road on Friday morning, Nov. 6, in appreciation for the community's support of Prop R.

Welcome Back
The 2015-2016 school year got off to a great start on Thursday, Aug. 13. Lots of smiling faces. Welcome back! Looking forward to a great year of learning.

Locker Decorating
On Wednesday, Aug. 12, several students showed up
a day early to decorate the inside of their lockers...who has the 'best dressed' locker. Classes begin Thursday. See you then.
